This design was created at the Manufacture in 1877. At that time, numerous bird motifs appeared, revealing the Court's, particularly Madame de Pompadour's, fascination with rare animals such as cockatoos and parrots, as depicted here. The design comprises scrolling flowers, foliage, and exotic birds, surmounted by hand-applied fine gold details.
