Gien earthenware is a living material, born from the natural alchemy of sand, clay, and kaolin, whose warm and sensual surface evokes a singular emotion.
Our workshop reflects a completely integrated manufacturing process and a secretly guarded recipe: each step, from mixing the elements and making the molds to the final glaze, is carried out in Gien according to exclusive formulas and specific expertise.
To bring Gien tableware and other items to life, we rely on three precise firings, twenty-six distinct components, and the expert touch of thirty master earthenware makers, heirs to nearly two centuries of tradition.
For more information, please see the Savoir-fairepage.
A symbol of refinement and the French art of living, the Gien style is instantly recognizable. Boasting some fifty designs, both timeless and more creative, Gien is synonymous with motifs, colors, and stories. The Faïencerie works regularly revisits its archives to offer modern reinterpretations that reflect current trends while preserving their unique identity.
