The Gien Museum

The Faience manufacture of Gien was founded in 1821 by an Englishman Thomas Hall in a convent of XVIème century. Memory of manufacture, social witness of the history, the museum is open every day. You will discover parts realized for the World Fairs, utility Faïence and decorative objects, invaluable and rare… Come to admire a rich earthenware collection by its forms, its techniques and its decorations.
January and February
From Wednesday to Saturday: 9am- 12am and 2pm - 6pm. Closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and Sundays.
March From Monday to Saturday: 9am- 12am and 2pm - 6pm, closed on Sundays. April to October From Monday to Saturday : 9am- 12am and 2pm - 6pm Sunday, holidays : 10am- 12am and 2pm - 6pm November and December
From Monday to Saturday: 9am- 12am and 2pm - 6pm, closed on Sundays. The museum is closed on: 1st January, 1st May, 1st November, 11th November and 25th December. Last entries 30 minutes before the closing. Guided tour for groups consisting of more than 20 persons by appointment. Guided visit of the workshops, from Monday to Thursday, for groups consisting of more than 20 persons, each more than 11 years old, by appointment. No visit of the workshops in July, August and December. TARIFFS: Museum visit Adults: € 4, children aged 7 to 15 years: € 2, free for children less than 7 years old, groups of more than 20 persons: € 3/person.
